What follows are the the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto, with a summary of Obama’s position regarding each plank. Unfortunately this not only shows Obama’s Marxist tendencies but also how far our country has already headed in the direction of collectivism. Read it and weep.

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.

It is the opinion of RantNation that property taxes are proof that private property has already been abolished in the Unites States. You don’t agree? Quit paying your property taxes (your “rent”) and see who ends up owning your house.
Obama had a chance to give us all a property tax deduction but chose not to vote at all, however this isn’t his worst decision, as you will see in the following paragraphs. Maybe he didn’t vote for it because he doesn’t pay his own property taxes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
We can’t blame Obama for the current progressive tax scheme already in place, but will he work to make it more equitable? Hardly. He wants to tax the already overburdened upper tax bracket even further, something that will harm our perilously perched economy even more. Have you ever worked for a poor guy? Me neither, although I have worked for a guy who became poor. I don’t work for him anymore.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
In this country we call it the estate tax, a scheme devised by other Marxists to tax the dead, and Obama voted for it in the Illinois senate in 2003

Concerning his future plans, here is an article at factcheck.org, which states in part:
Obama has proposed to apply the tax only to estates valued at more than $3.5 million ($7 million for couples), holding the maximum rate at 45 percent. McCain would apply it to estates worth more than $5 million ($10 million for couples), with a maximum rate of 15 percent.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
It sounds alot like IRS property confiscation without due process, because we all know that anyone who doesn’t pay his taxes is a terrorist (rebel), right? In any event, if the IRS thinks you owe them money you’ll be treated like one. I haven’t heard a peep from Obama relating to IRS reform, or anyone else for that matter, Ron Paul notwithstanding.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
That would be the federal reserve, which Obama will not abolish and return to a Constitutional form of exchange, i.e. gold and silver, but it could also be extended to the recent flood of bailout money, something that Obama will continue and therefore be directly responsible. No “free” money ever comes from Uncle Sugar without strings, so get ready to see more nationalization of our economy than we have already.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Federal Aviation Administration, (FAA), and on and on. Obama won’t be eliminating any of these bloated federal offices. 7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
A.K.A. The Desert Entry Act, The Department of Agriculture, the Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Park Service, the Department of Commerce and Labor, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the Bureau of Mines, and governmental control of business through regulation. Obama is an avowed environmentalist, believing strongly in the Chicken Little version of climate change. He’ll work hard to take away your property rights in the name of the snail darter or possibly some rare fungus, completely ignoring the fact that the climate has been changing from warm to cold and back since long before mankind came along. Was it the fault of humanity that crocodiles once roamed Wyoming and Chicago was once covered with glaciers? (No, not at the same time, but wouldn’t that be interesting?)

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
Think Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. Obama will continue the ponzi scheme that is So-So Security and bring back Marxist union thugs to threaten you into joining a self-serving union with the help of his new commie labor secretary, Hilda Solis.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equitable distribution of the population over the country.
Some may disagree with RantNation on this one, but Marx got it wrong. The best way to control people is to pack them like sardines into cities making them wholly dependent on government services, not spreading them throughout the countryside where they might learn a little about self-reliance.

10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
Sounds like the Department of Education and Outcome Based “Education”. For this one I’ll use Obama’s own site, which in a nutshell says “Spend, Spend, Spend!” Government schools aren’t mandated by the Constitution, and Obama isn’t the first guy who thinks it was, but a quick look at his own page shows he will continue our current failed Marxist system with loads of our tax dollars.

Ok, somebody refresh my memory. What was it about Ron Paul that was so nutty?
